Going into my senior year, I have learned so much through the opportunities provided and gained a variety of skills from interactive projects done in the Idea lab. The professors are constantly working closely with the students to properly prepare them for their future careers, such as starting to build your resume during your freshman year. The supportive atmosphere provides personal growth and motivation bringing out the best in each student.
The IDEA Lab is an open lab space where people can explore, tinker, invent and discover using tools and equipment such equipment as 3D printers, laser cutters and electronics—essentially, every tool needed to innovate in the computer field.
We have several industry partners that we work closely with through internships and full-time job opportunities. Students get to interact with engineers from companies through capstone projects, class visits, and mentoring. We know our students’ abilities and skills and pay personal attention to find them the right fit. Recent, industry-led/sponsored projects:

Sacred Heart University’s dual degree programs make it easy for first-year students to move from an undergraduate degree to a graduate degree.
Some programs need specific majors, but others are open to most fields of study. Apply as an incoming first-year student, and you can be accepted into both programs at once. Reach out to your admissions counselor to learn about your options.
What I love most about the Computer Engineering program at SHU is the community and all the passion that surrounds it. Both staff and students have been a crucial part of my experience so far, whether that be helping me with any questions I have, or giving me that extra push when things get hard. The small class sizes enhance my learning and encourage me to ask and answer questions. This experience so far has allowed me to immerse myself in what I learn, be open-minded, and overcome obstacles that might’ve held me back otherwise.
From career options to furthering your education, there are countless directions your degree can take you.
