The communication & media department allows students to develop a theoretical, historical and practical understanding of communication as a field of knowledge while preparing them for careers in advertising, public relations, film and television, sports broadcasting, journalism, esports and related fields.
Students in the communication & media department will graduate with a historical and practical understanding of the relationship of media and culture. They will acquire the social, artistic and technical skills necessary to succeed in today’s job market as ethically and socially aware professional communicators. Sacred Heart’s close proximity to the New York City/Tri-State Region strategically positioned in the heart of the creative corridor gives students the opportunity to intern at high profile companies and nonprofit organizations.
