To make the most of your college experience as a commuter, here are some helpful suggestions from SHU commuters:
- Leave home with plenty of time to get to class
- Get involved on campus! Join a club, student organization, fraternity or sorority, club sport or intramural team
- Join the Valentine Health & Recreation Center and participate in on-campus fitness classes
- Take advantage of free on-campus resources such as the Ryan Matura Library, print labs, Center for Teaching & Learning, Office of Student Accessibility, Counseling Center and more
- Read the Spectrum newspaper to learn about issues pertaining to students and special upcoming events
- Check out Hawley Lounge, which has televisions, pool tables, board games and more
- Relax between classes in any open space on campus
- Check out flyers, bulletin boards or the SHU Engage website for upcoming events. Events are open to all students!
- Dine in any of our 10 on-campus dining facilities
- Don’t forget to pick up some SHU swag at the SHU Bookstore
