Delta Gamma Chapter of Delta Epsilon Sigma
Delta Epsilon Sigma is a national scholastic honor society for students, faculty, and alumni of colleges and universities with a Catholic tradition. It was founded in 1939 to recognize academic accomplishments, to foster scholarly activities, and to encourage a sense of intellectual community among its members. National recognition is accorded through the college or university chapter. Sacred Heart's Delta Gamma chapter, founded in 1970, is one of over one hundred campus chapters. Eligible SHU undergraduate students with GPA's over 3.67 will receive letters of invitation from the chapter advisor in the summer prior to their year of eligibility. There are requirements limiting the number of courses taken outside Sacred Heart.
All questions regarding accessing the application should be directed to the advisor.

Philosophy Club
The Philosophy Club exists because as young people today everything is influencing us every second to act in certain ways and we need to learn to think for ourselves. Television and social media even the books we read all have hidden messages that are unknowingly influencing our beliefs and thoughts. In a society so divided, it can be hard to even comprehend what we believe. This club is necessary to the Sacred Heart Community because it will help its students understand themselves and their own beliefs. It will allow them to share their own ideas and feel heard, but also to hear other people's ideas in a judgment-free way. It will allow the students to have access to philosophical ideas and how they influence pop culture without having to be worried about the grade they will receive.
