Mission Integration & Catholic Studies

Faith in Action is designed for students who want to explore faith as an active, lived experience rooted in values, purpose and service. This Living & Learning Community supports students as they reflect on belief, meaning and vocation while engaging in respectful dialogue and compassionate action. Within a welcoming and inclusive environment, students consider how faith informs personal choices, academic pursuits and responsibility to others. Through reflection, service and connection, students learn to translate deeply held values into meaningful action for the common good.

Faith in Action LLC Experience

Through weekly seminar-style discussions and shared experiences, students deepen their understanding of faith traditions while engaging thoughtfully with diverse perspectives.

As part of this community, students will live with others who share their interest in putting their values into action, have opportunities for personal, academic and occupational development through their residence halls, and connect with faculty, staff and local community members who can help students grow in their faith journey.

Through this program, you’ll explore:

  • Faith, values and personal identity
  • Service, justice and compassion
  • Interfaith dialogue and inclusive community
  • Vocation, purpose and leadership

What you’ll experience:

  • Weekly discussion-based seminars centered on reflection and dialogue
  • Engagement with Campus Ministry, community engagement partners, Catholic and interfaith chaplains and lay leaders
  • Spiritual opportunities, volunteer experiences and service projects
  • Guided reflection that intentionally connects faith to action
  • Relationship-building grounded in respect, empathy and shared values

Faith in Action supports Sacred Heart University’s mission by promoting the common good, honoring the dignity of every person and encouraging students to live with compassion, purpose and integrity—on campus and beyond. This community welcomes students at all points of their faith journey, including those who are questioning, exploring or learning alongside others.
