Students attend special event, learn from experienced professionals
Sacred Heart University’s Jack Welch College of Business & Technology (WCBT) hosted SAS Day in late February for students, faculty and staff interested in digital innovation, retail and analytics.
A multinational software developer based in Cary, N.C., SAS develops and markets analytic software that helps users access, manage, analyze and report on data to aid decision-making. The company has collaborated with colleges and universities around the world to launch more than 300 joint programs.
David Loranger, WCBT marketing professor, hosted and moderated the event. It included panel discussions and lectures with Brooke Carlson, professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology; Janet Bumstead, WCBT management adjunct professor; Jose Mendoza, WCBT marketing professor; Brittany Bullard, solutions and analytical consultant in the retail practice at SAS and author of Style & Statistics: The Art of Retail Analytics; Dan Mitchell, director of global retail practice at SAS; and Cheryl Cass, senior global academic manager at SAS.
About 50 students attended the event at West Campus’ iHub powered by Verizon.
