Apply to SHU as a Freshman

You know Sacred Heart is right for you. Why wait?

You belong here. If you have visited and interviewed at Sacred Heart (schedule your appointment if you have not yet interviewed), and have determined that we are your first choice, consider applying Early Decision.

There are great benefits for students who are admitted through the Early Decision program:

  • Guaranteed option to live in a double room during your first year
  • $500 stipend towards future study abroad at SHU's campus in Ireland
  • $500 Early Decision Award
  • Early notification of your admission decision

While Early Decision is a binding contract that commits students to enroll upon admission, SHU will not hold you to the contract if you and your family determine that enrollment is not financially feasible.

To apply for Early Decision (binding agreement) submit an application by the appropriate deadline and include the Early Decision Contract:

  • November 15: Early Decision I application deadline
    • Decision letters will be postmarked by December 1 & commitment is required by January 15
  • January 15: Early Decision II application deadline
    • Decision letters will be postmarked by February 1 & commitment is required by March 1
