Sacred Heart University offers Special Programs & Partnerships as a form of financial assistance.

By collaborating with schools, employers and community groups, these programs provide tuition discounts to eligible students. University Special Programs & Partnerships reflect SHU’s commitment to reducing financial barriers and expanding opportunities for all learners.

Sacred Heart University (SHU) has partnered with Hartford HealthCare Corporation (HHC) to offer eligible employees at HHC a 20% tuition discount off of the standard program rate for all undergraduate, graduate and certificate programs.

  • Tuition discount applies to basic tuition only; does not include any fees. Includes Study Abroad programs at SHU-owned sites (i.e. Dingle, Ireland)
  • SHU online students enrolled in MA Mental Health Counselor, MSN, Family Nurse Practitioner, RN/BSN, MSW FT, MSW PT and RN/BSN that are currently billed at a discounted rate of 10% less than the standard program rate will get an additional 10% discount off of the standard program rate of their academic program.

Eligible HHC Employees may submit a Student Tuition Discount Form – Hartford HealthCare Corporation to Student Financial Assistance. This form will allow SHU to contact Human Resources at HHC each semester/academic year you are enrolled at SHU to verify your current employment status and eligibility for the discount.

Student Financial Assistance will then apply your 20% tuition discount off of the standard program rate (including undergraduate/graduate/certificate programs) each term you are enrolled at SHU.

This discount can end if SHU has/can provide a more generous discount or award.

Once HHC employment status and eligibility are confirmed, students may elect to enroll in the Hartford HealthCare Guaranteed Payment Plan (GPP) to pay the balance with a deferred payment-in-full due date at no additional charge. Contact Student Accounts via email at SAO@sacredheart.edu for enrollment procedures. If the student does not elect to enroll, they must adhere to payment-in-full semester due dates in accordance with their program as published to the Student Accounts website.

Sacred Heart University (SHU) has partnered with Masonicare Corporation (Masonicare) to offer eligible employees at Masonicare a 10% tuition discount off of the standard program rate for select Associates, Bachelors, Post-Baccalaureate Certificates and Masters programs listed below.

  • Tuition discount applies to basic tuition only; does not include any fees. Includes Study Abroad programs at SHU-owned sites (i.e. Dingle, Ireland).
  • Doctoral programs are excluded from receiving the tuition discount

Eligible Masonicare Employees may submit a Student Tuition Discount Form – Masonicare Corporation to Student Financial Assistance. This form will allow SHU to contact Human Resources at Masonicare each semester/academic year you are enrolled at SHU to verify your current employment status and eligibility for the discount.

Student Financial Assistance will then apply your 10% tuition discount off of the standard program rate (including Associate, Bachelors, Masters and Certificate programs) each term you are enrolled at SHU.

Sacred Heart University (SHU) is proud to partner with Family Centers to offer eligible employees an exclusive 20% tuition discount on standard tuition rates for all undergraduate, graduate, certificate and doctoral programs.

  • Tuition discount applies to base tuition only and does not include fees or additional expenses.
  • This benefit extends to SHU’s Study Abroad programs offered at SHU-owned global sites (i.e. Dingle, Ireland).

To receive the discount, eligible Family Centers employees must submit the Student Tuition Discount Form to SHU Student Financial Assistance. This authorization allows SHU to verify employment status directly with Family Centers’ Human Resources department each semester of enrollment.

Once verified, the 20% tuition discount will be applied as an award by Student Financial Assistance to your account each term you are enrolled in a qualifying program.
