The Center for Nonprofits was founded in 2002 as part of the Welch College of Business and Technology to engage MBA students in a community-oriented setting where they can apply their skills and knowledge to assist nonprofits from Fairfield and New Haven counties.

Today the center has grown beyond just the MBA students' projects. It provides experiential learning opportunities for graduate and undergraduate students in different fields of study and conducts leadership development, annual conferences and educational webinars.

Mission

To empower Sacred Heart University students with experiential learning opportunities that foster understanding, inspire a lifelong commitment to service and add value to the regional nonprofit community.

As an educational leader, the Center collaborates with nonprofits to provide various SHU resources to enhance their organization’s effectiveness.

Vision

Our vision is to become the primary source of high-quality skills and resources for nonprofit organizations; to build an empowering platform where nonprofits, students and educators can connect, learn and grow together powered by thought leadership and collaboration.
