Where is your hometown?
Pembroke, MA
What is your intended major in the College of Arts & Sciences?
Chemistry
What is a big question that you think the liberal arts help us to explore?
I began college as an undecided major, taking classes in the College of Arts & Sciences. This led me to take various courses, such as chemistry, calculus, music, government, writing and religion. It allowed me to narrow down which subjects I enjoy, but also broadened my greater understanding of areas of which I would not have had knowledge.
What is one favorite quote or idea of yours from any class you've taken in the foundational core?
Historically, the majority of drug trial testing has been done on men, however there is a need for more trials with women. Women and men have biological differences that can affect the way the drug is absorbed and metabolized, the side effects from administration and = hormonal influences. All patients have the right to know what the medicine they are taking is doing to them.
What are you most excited about for the future of the Pioneer Scholars?
I am very excited for more networking events. The Pioneer Scholars program has given me the opportunity to learn about individuals who have contributed to this university, hear their stories and share my story with them. This has been very special to me.
