What is your intended major in the College of Arts & Sciences?

History

What is a big question that you think the liberal arts help us to explore?

I think it’s the question of what ways can we communicate complex and sophisticated ideas with people who strive to learn more about the world and environment around us.

What is one favorite quote or idea of yours from any class you've taken in the foundational core?

It’s the idea that history can be the art of communicating with people in one everlasting story of metaphors, symbols and travesties of tradition. These stories are not just essential for those who study history but also for those who strive to obtain a basic and fundamental understanding of history as a whole.

What are you most excited about for the future of the Pioneer Scholars?

I am excited for two aspects. First, for the exclusive, behind-the-scenes access that we’ll have to various colloquiums and guest speaker events. This provides more opportunities to engage in discussion and to receive life lessons that we can use in real-life scenarios. Second, as the first class for Pioneers Scholars, we can build the foundation for the future of the program but also observe how future classes will change or interpret the foundation.
