Fraternities and sororities are all values-based organizations.

When you join a fraternity or sorority, you commit to holding yourself to higher standards based upon the four pillars of the fraternity/sorority community: brotherhood/sisterhood, service, scholarship and leadership. Fraternities and sororities exist as a proven support network for you as a student to embark on this new period in life. Nationally, over nine million students are in a fraternity or sorority. At Sacred Heart, we have approximately 1,600 students in our ten sororities and 400 students in our six fraternities. Being part of a fraternity or sorority community can help personalize your experience at college by offering a scholastic support system, providing:

• Hands-on experience in leading committees, managing budgets and interacting with faculty and administrators
• Exposure to potential careers through educational programs and discussions with alumni
• A chance to give back to the community through service projects
• An opportunity to create close friendships with peers who will provide support when times are tough
