Accounting Club
This clubs offers opportunities for students interested in Accounting to explore the different career options available in the corporate world and the Accounting industry as a whole.
Actuarial Science
The Actuarial Science Club is for students who would like assistance learning more details about the profession, want support, and understand the process of becoming an actuary. This is mainly appealing to students who are Mathematics majors and Actuarial Science minors. There will be students within the club to guide you as well as support you throughout your journey as well as mentor students in other classes that may be helpful within their academic career. Students who had internships within the Actuarial Science field will come and talk about their experience to help assist students with their thought process of pursuing their career.
American Chemical Society | ACS
The student affiliate Chapter of the American Chemical Society (ACS) is very active not only in bringing science to the community, but also in bringing Sacred Heart closer to the chemical community. We bring science to the community through a project referred to as “The Science Ambassadors.”
American Medical Student Association
The American Medical Student Association (AMSA) Club seeks to engage students pursuing a future in the medical field. AMSA Club is open to all full-time undergraduate students on the pre-medical track and strives to provide students with resources that will help them gain as much experience in the medical field as possible.
Biology Club
This club works toward educating the Student Body about the many advancements in the field of biology. This education also applies to club members, as the Biology Club gives members a chance to discuss relevant topics with other students and faculty.
Business Administration Club
The Business Administration Club endeavors to create and provide an academic and social environment for students interested in business, in which they can explore career opportunities in the corporate world, increase their knowledge of current business events, and dialog about relevant business student issues.
Criminal Justice Club
Members of the club have the opportunity to meet with real criminal justice professionals, participate in tours of criminal justice facilities, and enjoy various other events related to criminal justice. While the club centers around the 3 C’s of Criminal Justice – Cops, Courts, and Corrections – the club welcomes those interested in all things crime.
Education Club
The Education Club works to provide all students with hands-on learning opportunities through organized lectures, workshops and volunteer opportunities. The Education Club helps facilitate a community-based learning environment to prepare members for their future in education and teaching. All students are encouraged to join, regardless of their academic program.
English Club
The English Club is committed to fulfilling students' interests in fine literature. The Club facilitates academic discussion, and helps to bring the Classics to all SHU students. This club is open to all students, not just English majors.
Exercise Science Club
The Exercise Science Club promotes physical activity and cardiovascular & musculoskeletal fitness. They also encourage the SHU community to engage in general fitness and to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Fashion Club
This club provides students the opportunity to learn, discover, create, and expand on today's fashion in respect to trends, budget, manufacturing, merchandising, designing and any other factions of the fashion industry.
Finance & Economics Club
The Finance & Economics Club will provide members with a deeper insight into the finance world allowing for further experience outside the classroom in preparation for the future. Club meetings will include discussions about the most recent relevant topics with the use of Barron's as well as participation in the FinTron investing game. Guest speakers will come to enlighten members about real experiences and information about their respective careers. The Finance & Economics Club is an excellent way for students to get more involved and further their learning or relations outside the classroom.
History Club
The History Club at Sacred Heart University is committed to promoting an awareness of the rich, complex history of not only our country but of the global community at large. We strive to examine the past on its own terms, taking the good with the bad in an effort to better understand the world and the international climate in which we live today.
Marketing Club
Jack Welch College of Business & Technology Marketing Club provides a community for students interested in the field of marketing. Students will participate in activities that enrich students exposure to marketing in the real world. The club focuses on career development with many great opportunities such as creating campaigns, volunteer events, networking, and membership status with the American Marketing Association.
Math Club
The math club is open to all students interested in math and science.
Medical Imaging Student Technologists | M.I.S.T.
The mission of the Medical Imaging Student Technologists (M.I.S.T.) is to foster confident and competent future radiographic technologists. This will be by promoting unity between members and the surrounding community, enriching professional and social connections, organizing fundraising/networking/educational events, and supporting of current and future students as they navigate the program. All are welcome to join in the journey!
Men Entering Nursing | MEN
Sacred Heart University’s Men Entering Nursing (MEN) Club is a safe space for all students to support and encourage men of all ages to become nurses and to exemplify the growing contributions of men in the nursing field. The club promotes the retention of men in our nursing program through collaboration and peer support. The MEN Club provides a place for men entering nursing to meet, discuss challenges, overcome barriers, and instill pride in the profession of nursing by recognizing the unique contributions they provide in healthcare both locally and nationally.
National Student Speech Language Hearing Association | NSSLHA
The NSSLHA encourages professional interest among college and university students in the study of human communication and disorders, provides continuity to the dissemination of professional information and provides a vehicle for student representation in matters of professional concern.
Neuroscience Club
This club is great for those who are interested in Neuroscience in any capacity. Many of our members are in Biology, Chemistry,
Neuroscience, Communication Disorders, Social Work, Psychology, Pre-OT, Pre-SLP, Pre-PT, Pre-PA, Pre-Med, Nursing, Criminal
Justice, etc. Some things that we have done previously include an Alzheimer's fundraiser, internship opportunities, guest speakers,
volunteer opportunities and research fairs.
Philosophy Club
The Philosophy Club exists because as young people today everything is influencing us every second to act in certain ways and we need to learn to think for ourselves. Television and social media even the books we read all have hidden messages that are unknowingly influencing our beliefs and thoughts. In a society so divided, it can be hard to even comprehend what we believe. This club is necessary to the Sacred Heart Community because it will help its students understand themselves and their own beliefs.
Psychology Club
The Psychology Club is open to all students interested in Psychology. The club assists Psychology majors with any questions that they might have about their major or future career options.
Public Health Club
The Public Health Club focuses on bringing awareness to public health issues and to increase the subject. They are focused on building a platform for students who are interested in Public Health.
SHU Host (Hospitality)
SHU Host is the best way for the hospitality majors and anyone else interested in the industry to interact and talk about trends and educate one another on the subject.
SHU Innovate
SHU Innovate focuses on the growth and development of technology. This academic club is for students interested in Computer Science and Engineering.
Social Work Club
The club focuses on mentoring fellow students and conducting community service activities. The club interacts with the professional social work community through a variety of speakers and events that deepens the understanding of the profession. Membership in the club is not limited to Social Work students only.
Sport Management Club
The Sacred Heart University Sport Management Club is all about helping students grow personally and professionally. We provide
hands-on experiences, industry connections, and opportunities to get involved with the community. Our goal is to give students the
tools, knowledge and network they need to succeed in school and in the sports world.
Student Nurses Association | SNA
The SNA is composed of undergraduates enrolled in the SHU Nursing Program and is an affiliate with the National Student Nurses Association. The purpose of the SNA is to promote professional development and awareness among all students preparing to be professional registered nurses.
Women in Business Network
We want to help women in the college of business learn about career paths and explore their passions while working with faculty members and alumnae in those fields, especially in fields with low representation of women.
Women in Cybersecurity | WiCyS
Women in CyberSecurity (WiCyS) is the premier organisation with international reach dedicated to bringing together women in cybersecurity from academia, research and industry to share knowledge, experience, networking and mentoring.
Women in STEM
This club provides a supportive community where women in often male-dominated STEM fields can share experiences, challenges and strategies for success.
