Dr. Schlegel earned a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from Trinity College, Dublin and has clinical experience in pediatrics and adults. She earned a Master of Public Health in 2006 and a Doctorate in Health Science with a concentration in Global Health in 2019. She is a Certified Health Education Specialist and obtained her Aging in Place certification in June 2020. Dr. Schlegel teaches courses in therapeutic relationships, health promotion and community health. She also designs and facilitations simulation projects for the OT program, coordinates the driving simulator and Stronger than Stroke clinics and leads interprofessional service-learning trips to Guatemala.
