With 28 years at IBM, Russ Porter brings a combination of industry expertise and a passion for Education to Sacred Heart University’s BS in Financial Analytics program. As IBM’s former Vice President of Finance, Global Business services, he led financial strategies for a multi-billion-dollar enterprise. Most recently, he served as the CFO and Senior VP of Strategy, Technology and Analytics at the Institute of Management Accountants, a global association focused on Accounting and Finance Professionals. His extensive experience in financial planning, analytics and leadership helps him to enable his students to provide real-world insights into data-driven decision-making. At SHU, Russ is committed to preparing future financial and analytics professionals with the skills needed to thrive in today’s dynamic business landscape.

Teaching Responsibilities
Russ teaches both Introduction to Financial Management and Introduction to Data Analysis, providing students with the foundation to assess, analyze and communicate insights to improve company and personal decision-making.
