Rebekah Reysen, Ph.D., NCC, LPC

Dr. Rebekah Reysen has been a Licensed Professional Counselor for over 12 years, and worked with college students for well over a decade at the University of Mississippi. Dr. Reysen's work has focused on providing a holistic approach to helping underperforming college students (those with less than a 2.0 GPA), which involves treating the mental health, career, and academic needs of underperforming students.
In 2021, Dr. Reysen created her own peer-reviewed journal called the Journal of Academic Underperformance. She has also published a variety of journal articles and book chapters related to students on academic probation, grit, academic entitlement, career counseling, group counseling, and college student retention.
Additionally, Dr. Reysen received the Outstanding Contributor to Research award by the Mississippi Counseling Association in 2017, and has also held leadership positions for the organization. Most recently, Dr. Reysen has cultivated a new interest in the overlap between mental health and criminal justice and studies crime on the college campus, psychological predictors of criminal behavior, and stalking behaviors.
