Peter Loth, Ph.D.
Office Location
Dr. Peter Loth has published two books and numerous research articles in various journals and conference proceedings. His areas of research include model-theoretic aspects of abelian group theory and the interaction between topology and abelian groups. His most recent book, Abelian Groups: Structures and Classifications (de Gruyter, 2019), is a research monograph co-authored with Dr. Carol Jacoby. Before joining Sacred Heart University in 1998, he held visiting positions at Case Western Reserve University and at Muskingum College. Courses he taught include Mathematics for the Liberal Arts, Calculus, Mathematical Structures and Proofs, Linear Algebra, Abstract Algebra, Real Analysis and The Art of Thinking. He has been team advisor for the international Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM) for over 15 years. Dr. Loth is a member of the American Mathematical Society.
