Marcela Ocampo was born in Bogotá, Colombia. Spanish is her first language. She studied Spanish in Colombia and worked in her hometown as a professor in different High Schools and two universities. She also studied and later worked at the Instituto Caro y Cuervo as Researcher and Editor of texts written in Spanish. She lived and studied in Madrid, Spain for approximately 10 years then came to the United States and is currently an American Citizen.
