Laura K. Harrawood began teaching full time at Sacred Heart University in July of 2025. She has taught across the counseling curriculum and has held several faculty positions at both ground and online programs. Her counseling experience includes mental health agencies, private practice and college campus counseling centers. She has published and presented in the areas of group work, ethics, innovative teaching methods, the training of couple and family counselors, substance abuse and death education. She currently serves on the editorial review board for The Family Journal: Counseling and Therapy for Couples and Family and is a long-time member of the American Counseling Association, several of its divisions and various state associations.
