Kelly McGill

Kelly McGill is a professional dancer, instructor and choreographer born and raised in Upstate New York. Kelly is currently located in Southern California and dances for Orange County’s critically acclaimed contemporary dance company, Backhausdance. Kelly is a company member of Backhausdance and an education partner with the company's Dance for Kindness project. Kelly’s performance career has allowed her to dance in Los Angeles, Orange County, Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland, and Washington, DC. As an instructor, Kelly specializes in ballet, modern, and contemporary dance forms, currently teaching ballet and modern dance throughout Southern California. Most recently, Kelly instructed Modern/Contemporary Technique at UC Irvine as a Guest Lecturer in the Spring of 2023. Kelly is a certified yoga instructor and values somatic practices and mind-body connectivity in all her teaching. As a choreographer, Kelly is interested in exploring the human experience through collaborative choreographic processes and contemporary movement. She enjoys creating choreography for both stage and film and working collaboratively with artists of different mediums.
