Jordan R Tewell, Ph.D.
Office Location
Dr. Tewell joined Sacred Heart University in the Fall of 2019 as an Assistant Professor under the School of Computer Science and Engineering. He received his Masters in Entertainment Technology degree from Carnegie Mellon University and his PhD degree from City, University of London. He has worked in Japan and was involved with client projects with NEC Corporation in Nara and GL Associates in South Korea. He was a Visiting Researcher for the ERATO Igarashi Design Interface Project and for Keio University. After moving to London, he worked for several early stage startups, including a collaboration with the Mugaritz restaurant in Spain.

Research
Professor Tewell's research focus is in Human-Computer Interaction, working at the intersection of HCI with multisensory communication interfaces, wearable technology, and mixed reality. He is interested in investigating prototypes of new mixed reality interfaces that can enhance digital media experiences via perception and interaction with virtual content through multisensory (visual, audio, haptic, and smell) feedback.
