Jason P. Prevelige, DMSc, MBA, PA-C, DFAAPA
Office Location
Jason Prevelige is a full-time physician associate/assistant (PA), practicing emergency medicine primarily, as well as pediatric hospital medicine, pediatric urgent care and neonatal intensive care. In his full-time role in the emergency department, he is the Associate Advanced Practice Provider Leader, where he works with the other department leaders on practice improvement initiatives and oversight of the department. He is passionate about professional advocacy and has spent most of his career as a PA serving the Connecticut Academy of Physician Associates in various roles, including two terms as President, and as the present chair of the Legislative Committee. He most recently was elected as President-elect of the American Academy of Physician Associates, the national professional organization for PAs; where he has a long history of service including as a director at large on the Board of Directors, in various roles in the House of Delegates, and as a chair or member of multiple commissions and committees.
Jason lives in Fairfield and most enjoys spending time with his wife and young son, and especially traveling with them and being a hockey dad. In his spare time he plays hockey, is chief of a local volunteer fire department, and stays involved with a non-profit organization he helped found. The non-profit is focused on rescuer development in impoverished nations, as well as disaster response, both domestic and abroad. He has traveled to Nicaragua on multiple occasions to provide care to indigenous populations that have limited or no access to health care.
A graduate of Sacred Heart University, Jason proudly returned to SHU to first serve on the advisory committee during the formation of the PA program, and then as the initial course coordinator for pediatrics and a lecturer in emergency medicine. He continues to teach in pediatrics and emergency medicine, as well as clinical year courses, is involved in the interviewing process, and is excited to offer any other assistance that he can to the program. Jason was honored to be recognized by the Alumni Association in 2019 as Volunteer of the Year.
