Dr. Hegge is a National Board Certified and Connecticut licensed occupational therapist, a Certified Kinesio Tape Practitioner, a Healthcare Ergonomics Assessment Specialist, and a Level 1 Functional Pelvic Health Practitioner. Dr. Hegge’s clinical and scholarly interests include anatomy education, women’s health, pelvic health, occupational therapy education, service-learning, adult and geriatric rehabilitation, and urinary incontinence management. She co-founded the SHU & You Women’s Health Center, a pro-bono faculty-student clinic serving underserved women experiencing pelvic floor dysfunction and breast cancer-related conditions in the greater Bridgeport/Fairfield County area.

Dr. Hegge teaches across the occupational therapy curriculum. Her current research focuses on anatomy education, graduate student readiness, culturally responsive women’s health care, and innovative teaching strategies in occupational therapy education.
