Foluke Omosun, Ph.D.
Office Location
Dr. Omosun has significant experience as a public relations and media professional. She has worked previously as a TV and print journalist. She served as an account executive at AKHIA Communications in Hudson, Ohio, as an internal communications specialist and editor of Kent State University’s employee newsletter and a member of the university’s crisis communications team.
She also served as a reporter for NPR-affiliate WKSU for the “Learning Curve” series that examined the effect of the pandemic on K-12 public education, as well as the “Justice Matters” series, a collaborative public radio reporting project, that examined the criminal justice system in Ohio. She earned a second-place award for “Best Criminal Justice Reporting” from the Ohio Society of Professional Journalists.
Most recently, she was a health promotion project coordinator at the University of Connecticut and an adjunct professor at Kent State.
Dr. Omosun has served as a Peabody Awards Screening Committee Member.
She has presented research at several conferences, including the International Communication Association (ICA) and the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC).
