Bryan Chuan has an active career as a performer, collaborative artist, and pedagogue and previously served on the keyboard faculty at Arkansas State University and the University of Nevada Reno. He has been a featured soloist with the Denver Pops Orchestra, Reno Chamber Orchestra, UNR Symphony Orchestra, Harvard Pops Orchestra, and Northeastern Wind Symphony. His recent solo recitals have included the works of Enrique Granados and Basque organ music, and he is part of a recent release by BIS Records featuring the art songs of Kaikhosru Sorabji. An avid organist, Bryan is currently the music director at the Congregational Church of Brookfield and organized the Pipes on the River concert series at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Reno, NV. Bryan has served as a rehearsal pianist, coach, and music director for the Institute of Young Dramatic Voices, Nevada Chamber Opera, state and national competitions, and many other choral and theatrical ensembles. Bryan maintains an active leadership role in the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) and recently served as president of the Northern Nevada chapter. He has presented at the MTNA national conference and National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy (NCKP) on various topics, including planning community engagement concerts, the piano works of Max Reger, and piano works from the Walker-Hill collection from the University of Colorado Boulder.
