Anton Shufutinsky

Having served over 20 years of active-duty service in the US Armed Forces, Anton Shufutinsky is a highly experienced leader and manager across numerous professional areas including maritime, security operations, emergency management, force protection, intelligence, special projects, aviation, safety, hospital administration, environmental and public health. He is the founding director of the Ph.D. program in organization development & change (ODC) at Sacred Heart University. Immediately prior to his role at SHU, he was department chair and director of the Ph.D. in ODC and MS in Leadership at Cabrini University. He is also president of the Changineering Global Group, a private consulting firm focused on organization development, leadership development, management and occupational safety and health. In addition to his military service, Shufutinsky’s career includes corporate leadership positions with Fortune 100 companies, including Merck & General Dynamics, as well as consulting work across sectors and industries with clients such as SafeGuard Environmental, US Navy, US Army, General Dynamics, Northrop-Grumman, Calgene, SKC, Raytheon, Seagen, AMI, Trinity University (Dublin, Ireland), Cambridge Partners, the American Society of Safety Professionals and the Cooper Union, among others.
He has served as vice chair of the boards of trustees and directors for the Organization Development Network (ODN) and the International Society for Organization Development & Change (ISODC), and as research lead at the NTL Institute for Applied Behavioral Sciences (NTL). Shufutinsky’s work has been published more than 50 times in peer-reviewed scholarly journals and textbooks, and he serves on the editorial teams of numerous peer-reviewed journals and has edited books and journal special issues related to business and the organization sciences. He is regarded as an ODC innovator and is an award-winning researcher and practitioner in his field.
Shufutinsky holds a BS in biology from Chaminade University, an MS in public health with an industrial hygiene and environmental health focus from San Diego State University, a doctorate of science in health science from Nova Southeastern University and a Ph.D. in organizational development from Cabrini University. He also maintains several professional certifications.

Mainly, Shufutinsky directs the doctoral program in organization development & change. He also has experience teaching leadership, management, emergency management, public health, social work, human factors and safety engineering at numerous universities and institutes.

Shufutinsky's research interests and foci are broad, concentrating on a diversity of topics that impact organizations, including strategic organization development and change, organization design, organizational effectiveness, organizational culture, leadership and followership, leadership development, management, axiology, organizational safety culture, human factors, inclusion and well-being and research methods, among others. He also conducts research related to veteran's studies.
