James MorleyJames T. Morley, Jr., is a steadfast champion of Sacred Heart University, serving with distinction as a trustee and as former chairman of the board. For decades, Morley’s wisdom, humor and generosity have guided SHU through periods of growth and transformation, always with students at the heart of every decision. His leadership reflects not only a commitment to excellence but also a deep belief in education as a force for opportunity and change.

Morley built a remarkable career in broadcasting as a founding partner of NewCity Communications and later in leadership with Cox Radio, Inc., retiring in 1999 after more than 40 years in the industry. Alongside his professional success, Morley has generously given his time and talents to civic and cultural organizations, including the Library of American Broadcasting, New Haven Symphony Orchestra, Bridgeport Symphony Orchestra and Newtown Savings Bank. He also continues to shape the region’s public media as a current member of the WSHU Board of Directors.

A graduate of Boston College, Morley has always embodied the values of service, integrity and community. At Sacred Heart, his thoughtful guidance and genuine care for others have inspired fellow trustees, colleagues and generations of students.
