Forward | Strength through Endowment

With this largest comprehensive fundraising campaign, we are dreaming big aiming to double the endowment to $500 million. A larger endowment will help us attract more people with Pioneer Spirit. With your partnership, we will be able to provide more scholarships to undergraduate students and more assistantships at the graduate level to ensure that students who deserve a Sacred Heart education will receive one. We will establish additional faculty chairs and new programs that advance knowledge and inspire students. Above all, a more robust endowment will mean SHU can take calculated risks, seizing opportunities as they arise.

Leading | First-Rate Academic Programs

Thanks to strategic investments in undergraduate, graduate and professional programs, Sacred Heart is developing a faculty that pursues excellence in both teaching and research. Our faculty are continuing to secure more and more external grant funding to advance research that makes a difference. Philanthropic investment will enable us to launch new programs that meet market needs and move society and students forward, including those in health care, business, environmental, social and corporate governance, and inclusive excellence. We will strengthen existing programs and partnerships, offering stackable certificates, dual degrees and more internship and clinical health placements for students.

Spirit | Best-Possible Student Experience

Learning happens everywhere: in classrooms and residence halls,  
on the playing field and stage, through study abroad and student clubs. The campaign will help us create the optimal learning and living environment for students. This will require investment in a wide repertoire of support for both undergraduate and graduate students; athletics at all levels—Division 1, club and intramural; visual and performing arts programming; the residential experience in Fairfield and at SHU Dingle; and clubs and organizations that hone leadership and team-building skills.
