Private Parties

Red's Pub, located in the lower level of the Linda McMahon Commons, is the perfect place for your private event!

We offer private events to the SHU community, which is available outside of our normal operating hours.

The Student Union makes it simple and easy for you to book your private event. You can contact our office regarding event availability and we can quickly begin the process for you.

Booking Availability

• Friday: After 8 p.m.
• Saturday & Sunday: 12 p.m. - 1 a.m.*

*Dependent upon whether Red's is currently scheduled to be open. We are typically open for major SHU sporting events on campus.

Cost

The standard price of an event is $250 for a maximum of 5 hours. If you want your time extended, the fee is $50 per hour.

Alcohol sales are not included in the cost. You can choose to do either a cash bar (each guest would pay on their own) or you can set up a bar tab for the event and offer an open bar to your guests.

Please note that we can only accept cash, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and budget transfers. We do not accept AMEX and SHU Purchasing Cards. All costs/tabs must be settled immediately at the end of your event.

Catering

There are two food options available for your private event.

You can either have your guests order off of our standard Red's menu, which includes a selection of appetizers, wings, burgers and more. Or you can choose to cater your event through Chartwells Catering. They have a wide variety of choices that can fit all of your needs.

We do not allow any other outside food into Red's. You must have your private event already booked through the Student Union office before you contact Chartwells.

Advertising

All advertising and emails regarding your event in Red's Pub are subject to content approval by the Director of the Student Union. This is to ensure proper advertising for the University.
