Gary MacNamara

Gary MacNamara started his career at the Fairfield Police Department as a patrol officer in 1991 and became chief of police in 2010. After nearly 30 years on the job, in 2018, Gary retired from his role as police chief and joined SHU. Knowledgeable on law enforcement, security training, management of security, emergency planning functions and campus safety, Gary is dedicated to keeping the SHU community safe.

Brian brings more than two decades of progressive law enforcement leadership experience, most recently serving as deputy chief of police for the Milford Police Department. Brian leads public safety, advancing strategic safety initiatives, strengthening partnerships and fostering a secure, welcoming environment for the entire University community.
