Personal Safety Escorts

Any students, faculty, staff or visitors on campus property.

The Personal Safety Escort Service is intended primarily to be a walking service, with mobile escorts provided when appropriate. When calling for an escort, assume that a walking escort will accompany you, unless the dispatcher indicates otherwise. 

This service is intended to deter potential sexual harassment, verbal abuse and assault by providing escorts who walk with or drive those who are traveling alone.  

The mobile escort service is not intended as an alternative means of transportation, and may be denied in these cases: 

• When three or more individuals are going to the same destination
• If it is determined that an individual has provided false or misleading information to the dispatcher
• When the same student or students request to be taken to or from two or more buildings within the same hour

Public Safety will provide you with a walking (or mobile) escort to or from any on-campus location. This includes all areas on the Park Avenue Campus in Fairfield. Security escorts are also available to and from all University-owned or -leased property in Bridgeport: Roncalli Hall and The Ridge. Public Safety does not provide this service to Avalon Gates in Trumbull or to or from the Trumbull Mall (refer to the Student Union Shuttle Service). 

Personal safety escorts are available every day of the year, primarily from dusk until dawn. However, if you feel unsafe at any time, call Public Safety at 203-371-7995.
