The three broad goals of Sacred Heart University's 2018-2023 Strategic Plan are:
- Goal 1: Strengthen Academic Programs and Student Outcomes
- Goal 2: Enhance the Student Experience to Support the Achievement of Enrollment Management Goals
- Goal 3: Ensure Financial Stability
Below is an indication that Internationalization is indeed one of the Objectives that falls under Goal 1.
University Strategic Plan, 2018-2023
Goal 1: Strengthen Academic Programs and Student Outcomes:
- Objective 6: Foster global and intercultural learning, scholarship and professional development.
Goal 2: Enhance the Student Experience to Support the Achievement of Enrollment Management Goals:
- Objective 2: Promote an inclusive community that promotes wellness, diversity and success by expanding resources in physical infrastructure and student programs.
Strategic Plan for Internationalization 2017-2020
The standing Council for Internationalization coordinates internationalization efforts at Sacred Heart. In 2018/19, the priority goal is to distribute the work on implementing Goals and Objectives of the Strategic Plan for Internationalization 2017-2020. In 2019/20, the Council will begin two-year work on implementing those Goals and Objectives.
Comprehensive Internationalization
Comprehensive Internationalization “is a strategic, coordinated process that seeks to align and integrate policies, programs, and initiatives to position colleges and universities as more globally oriented and internationally connected institutions” (American Council on Education, 2013).
