First-Year Sexual Assault Prevention Training
All first-year undergraduate students, including freshmen and transfers, are required to complete our Sexual Assault Prevention Training prior to their arrival on campus.
Course Access Instructions
- Visit myshu.sacredheart.edu.
- Login with your SHU credentials.
- Select "Blackboard."
- Select "Organizations"
- Select "New Student Community Standards Training."
- Under "Organization Content," select "Training: RespectEDU."
- A window will appear on the right-hand side; select "Start Attempt" at the bottom.
- You may have popups blocked—the screen may prompt you to "launch course" or be sure to allow popups in your settings.
- The course will appear in a new window and you may begin.

Yes, and be sure to visit the 3 line icon in the upper right hand corner when you return to the course if it does not automatically bring you back to where you left off. In this menu you are able to select Course Navigation, and all course modules will appear - then, you can select to begin from the module you left off by clicking on the next bold title, as all inaccessible titles will appear in gray.
This typically has to do with one of the following:
- Popup blocker, cookies or a browser issue - please be sure to allow for popups, clear your cookies and if this doesn't work, try a new browser
- Learner did not complete page requirement - the system is tracking to ensure you complete all elements on each training page. You are unable to click through the training without full participation. If you notice a button is grayed-out, or the system is not letting you move on, please be sure to complete all elements on the page
