C.U.R.T.I.S. Week, an acronym for Community Understanding and Reflection Through Inner-city Service, is an annual week of engagement and immersion in Bridgeport, CT. Named after the founder of Sacred Heart, Bishop Walter W. Curtis, the week allows students to experience the urban issues of poverty, racism and immigration on a first-hand level.

The program taks place over spring break. Students will remain on campus and engage with several sites throughout the city to help with service projects. Nightly, the students share a meal and reflect on the issues faced by the surrounding community. Representatives from Bridgeport are invited to attend meal times and to lead the group in critical reflections and discussions.

Application Process

Applications are accepted through November 4, 2022. Upon acceptance, a $50 deposit is required to participate.
