Tutoring
Sacred Heart Tutors
Sacred Heart University provides both Peer and Professional Tutors, who are Sacred Heart students and professors. Tutoring is available from 8am until 10pm, 7 days a week. Tutoring is free! Our tutoring services are offered both in-person and virtually.
Drop-In Hours
No appointment is needed to see tutors at five drop-in tutoring locations, including Martire, the Office of Student Accessibility, the Multicultural Center, West Campus and the Library.
Book an Appointment
You can also book an appointment with a tutor in our Tutor Scheduling System. Note that if you have not used this system before, you need to register for an account first.
You will find three schedules on the Tutor Scheduling System.
- The schedule for the current semester (ex. Spring 2022 Tutor Schedule) is where you can find tutors listed by course. You must schedule your appointments a day in advance.
- The Drop-In Schedule is where you can schedule same-day appointments
- The Online Writing Lab (OWL) is where you can upload your papers and receive feedback within 3-4 days
Third Party Tutors
We have partnered with Pear Deck Tutor to provide free online tutoring to all Sacred Heart University students! You can connect with a live tutor in under 30 seconds for over 300 subjects, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Only use this service if you cannot find a Sacred Heart Tutor first!
How to Access Pear Deck Tutor
- Log in to MySHU
- Select "Tools" on the left-side menu and find the Pear Deck Tutor icon.
