Research Opportunities for SHU Students

At the Fairfield campus, our Irish Studies work-study students gain experience with our newsletter, publicity and social media promotions. As we develop plans for digitizing and managing our new CTIAHS archives, there will be additional opportunities for students to work with these archival materials, through independent research or as part of the digitization project. Two CAS students (English and History) completed paid internships in 2023 to develop website material for the CTIAHS website, a collaboration that will continue to offer students research opportunities.

SHU in Dingle coordinates practice-based research and internship opportunities for the School of Communication, Media & the Arts (SCMA) students in the fields of PR, marketing and communications, and content production with high-profile businesses such as the Dingle Skellig Hotel, Dingle Sea Safari, and the Dingle Food Festival. Demand for SCMA interns continues to grow. Opportunities in Fairfield include working on digital context/marketing for the John Moriarty Institute for Ecology and Spirituality
