In recognition of Global Diversity Awareness Month, experts from Stamford Health and Sacred Heart University will lead discussion on critical health care topics

Stamford Health, in collaboration with Sacred Heart University and its global health programs and Institute for Sustainability and Social Justice, announced that they will host “Think Globally, Act Locally: A Conversation on Healthcare Diversity & Disparities.” This will be an expert-led panel, open to the public, and will explore critical aspects of health care sustainability and social justice. The event will take place on October 25, at 5 p.m., in the Schine Auditorium at SHU.

Following the popular “think globally, act locally” concept used in grassroots efforts across various industries, panelists will examine the most pressing global health care issues and discuss solutions for addressing these challenges here in the state of Connecticut, including through Stamford Health’s Community Health Needs Assessment and Community Health Improvement Plan.

The event will bridge the gap between acknowledging the challenges faced in health-care sustainability and implementing practical solutions, with actionable advice for improving health equity and patient outcomes, a goal that was recently ranked as the foremost concern within the realm of health-care sustainability in a national poll conducted by Sacred Heart University.

The conversation will feature several distinguished experts with diverse points of view and experiences.

The event is designed to engage a range of people who are interested in creating positive change in the health care landscape including health care professionals, educators, students and community members. Following the panel, attendees will have a chance to ask questions and engage in constructive dialogue with panelists and fellow eventgoers.

Join us on October 25, at 5 p.m., at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield as we come together to explore global awareness and local action in health care sustainability. Your participation and engagement are essential in advancing health care equity, sustainability and social justice.
