SHU Community Theatre is at Center of New Cultural District
Downtown Fairfield receives state designation that celebrates its arts and culture
It’s official! Downtown Fairfield is Connecticut’s newest Cultural District, and the Sacred Heart University Community Theatre is at the center of it all.
The official recognition by the state celebrates the energy, creativity and diversity of Fairfield’s thriving arts and cultural community.
The formal announcement took place at the theatre on June 10. State and town leaders spoke about what the designation means for Fairfield. Cultural Districts help communities to better support and promote arts and culture, attract visitors and provide more arts and cultural opportunities for residents.
