Members serve as the college’s community ambassadors

Sacred Heart University’s St. Vincent’s College has a new Board of Visitors, comprising of volunteers from local healthcare organizations and businesses. The volunteers serve as community ambassadors for the College and support its mission, while providing expertise and insight into nursing, rehabilitation, education, finance and business development.

“Our board members are extremely beneficial to the college, as they provide a wealth of judgment, experience and knowledge from various fields,” said Maryanne Davidson, dean of St. Vincent’s College. The board also assists Davidson in carrying out the college’s strategic vision and tactical measures and helps expand financial resources, she said.

The Board of Visitors incudes:

Carmine Adimando Carmine Adimando, who is the creator of Carmco Investments, LLC, a venture capital company. He is board chairman for Hartford Healthcare-St. Vincent’s Special Needs Services and vice chairman of St. Vincent’s Medical Center Foundation. Previously, Adimando was vice president of finance and administration, and treasurer at Pitney Bowes.

Dale DanowskiDale Danowski is vice president of patient care services, Fairfield region, at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport. As vice president, she established a culture of professionalism to empower nurses through a Shared Governance Council. Danowski led the nursing staff to its first Magnet® designation in November 2012 and redesignation in 2018. As an executive team member, she has administrative oversight of all nursing departments at St. Vincent’s.

Virginia DayVirginia Day is a chaplain and spiritual director. A 1964 graduate of St. Vincent’s College, Day has degrees in nursing, divinity and theology. She served as a nursing instructor at St. Vincent’s Medical Center from 1970 to 1974 and was nominated for the Award of Excellence in Leadership by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in 1992. Recently, she was the nurse program coordinator and contact for The Cathedral Parish of St. Augustine and St. Patrick Church in Bridgeport.

Robert DunbarRobert Dunbar is managing partner at Dunbar Associates, LLC and serves on the board of Hartford Healthcare-St. Vincent’s Special Needs Services. He also is a past board member of Masonicare and the McGivney Community Center. Dunbar attended Sacred Heart University and holds several licenses and certificates in the financial and insurance fields, including insurance licenses in Connecticut, New York and New Jersey.

Armand FabbriArmand Fabbri is the Board of Visitors’ chairperson. He has worked in various roles in Catholic education for the Diocese of Bridgeport for 40 years, and with St. Vincent’s Behavioral Health Services at Seton Academy in Westport for 10 years. He served on Sacred Heart University’s Board of Trustees and is a past chairman of St. Vincent’s College Board of Trustees from when it was an independent college.

Martin SbriglioMartin Sbriglio, chief executive officer of Ryders Health Management and Ryders Construction, LLC., is a 1977 graduate of St. Vincent’s College and a former chairman of the Board of Trustees. He belongs to the American College of Health Care Administrators, which named him Administrator of the Year in 2003. He also is vice president and executive committee member of the Connecticut Association of Health Care Facilities.

Frank ScifoFrank Scifo, director of business development for St. Vincent’s Health Services, is the chairperson of Swim Across the Sound and St. Vincent’s Family Health Center Clinics and Special Needs Services. Previously, Scifo was the chief medical officer at St. Vincent’s. He was on the board of directors for St. Vincent’s Medical Center for four years and received the Catholic Health Association’s Lifetime of Contribution to the Ministry award in 2018.
