Sacred Heart University’s doctor of nursing practice (DNP) program ranks among the top 100 nationally, according to U.S.News & World Report, a multi-platform publisher of news and information.

Graduates gathered for commencement

The College of Nursing’s bachelor of nursing to doctor of nursing practice program educates nurses in advanced practice for the role of family nurse practitioner. The program is suited for nurses with direct experience in patient care and a robust clinical background, though recent graduates are considered, as well.

The ranking encompassed 183 schools that provided statistical data for U.S.News & World Report to consider when evaluating DNP programs. Evaluators also examined research activity, faculty credentials, the percentage of faculty members with important achievements and faculty participation in nursing practice.
