Pam Miller has extensive business background; Eric Wood ’98 is immersed in college sports programs

Sacred Heart University has added Pamela Miller and alumnus Eric Wood ’98 to its Board of Trustees.

Miller is an attorney and is president and chief executive officer of Summit Global Strategies, Ltd., where she secured a multi-year, multimillion-dollar contract for a large refined-petroleum product distributor, advised a client on successfully acquiring a large federal energy contract, helped an international public-sector client develop a new health-care plan to serve rural populations and guided a major health-care provider that was designing a corporate sustainability strategy and infrastructure. Prior to this, Miller worked as chief sustainability officer and vice president of marketing strategy at MedCo Health Solutions, Inc., where she led all environmental, social impact and governance initiatives for enterprises and subsidiaries world-wide, and established and served as the founding executive director of the Medco Foundation.

Her areas of expertise include health insurance, policy, strategy, sustainability, business development and energy transactions. She is a member of the nonprofit National Medical Fellowship and is on the CarePlus New Jersey Behavioral Health Board of Trustees.

Wood is the deputy athletics director of competitive excellence for University of Central Florida Athletics Association, Inc., where he plays a prominent role in the strategic planning process and day-to-day administration of the intercollegiate athletics program and serves as primary adviser to the athletics director for all internal units impacting academic and competitive success.

He has 22 years of successful experience in athletics and higher education administration and 11 years of executive staff leadership. Wood was a 2019 “Next Up” honoree presented by College AD for senior-level administrators. Wood earned his doctor of education degree in sports management from University of Arkansas in 2016, his master of education in counseling and guidance services from Clemson University in 2000 and his bachelor of arts in psychology from Sacred Heart University in 1998, when he graduated cum laude.
