Sacred Heart Ranks Among the Best U.S. Colleges
University’s undergraduate business program also ranks on U.S. News & World Report
Sacred Heart University has earned recognition once again from U.S. News & World Report as one of the best universities in the nation.
The publisher recently released its “Best Colleges” rankings and this is the second year SHU appears on the “National Universities” listing. According to the U.S. News website, “Schools in the National Universities category offer a full range of undergraduate majors, plus masters and doctoral programs, and emphasize faculty research or award professional practice doctorates.”
Sacred Heart offers doctorate degrees in physical therapy, nursing practice, business administration and educational leadership. This fall, the University added a Ph.D. in social work to its list of doctoral programs. Over the past decade, SHU has tripled the number of graduate programs it offers.
“This recognition is a testament to the educational excellence and successful outcomes we provide to our students through our rigorous and demanding curricula,” said SHU President John J. Petillo. “We are pleased to be included again in this ranking among other excellent institutions. We are proud of our students, faculty and staff who work so hard to ensure the SHU experience is exceptional.”
Separately, U.S. News and World Report also ranked Sacred Heart’s Jack Welch College of Business & Technology among the best U.S. undergraduate business schools. The “2021 Undergraduate Business Programs” ranking is based on responses to a survey of deans and senior faculty members at 511 peer institutions this past spring. All the undergraduate business programs hold accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
U.S. News & World Report’s rankings and Best Colleges 2021 guidebook help prospective students find information on colleges and universities that suit their preferences. The guide includes information about application requirements, financial aid, student body characteristics and post-graduate employment.
Sacred Heart also earned high ranks this year from The Princeton Review and Money Magazine for being one of the best higher-education institutions in the country.
