Pictured from left, Bronwyn Cross-Dennysocial work associate professor, Christina Gunther, director of global health and health science programs and Molly Higbie, assistant director of global health programs, discussed an ongoing interdisciplinary research project they are conducting with a global partner in Maharashtra, India: the Comprehensive Rural Health Project (CRHP). In collaboration with CRHP’s social worker, Jayesh Kambale, they identified a community need for older adults during a winter program.

Students worked with CRHP members to identify and evaluate the needs of villages’ elderly to earn a certificate in community-based integrated health and development. The interventions they derived are being implemented, and ongoing program evaluations and related community needs assessments will continue.

The project’s results will be presented at the annual CASCon research event Sept. 11.  For more information on this program, contact Office of Global Health Programs at 203-371-7948.
