Drama Enthusiast Takes on Role as Performing Arts Director
Shelton native Justin Zenchuk will recruit dance, theatre, music students
Sacred Heart University recently hired Justin Zenchuk, of Shelton, as the new director of performing arts recruitment and special events.
In this position, Zenchuk will plays a crucial role in the development and direction of the performing arts department. He will work with his colleagues to ensure the University is meeting its goals.
Zenchuk has been involved in performing arts since he was in his teens. The singer, dancer and actor is known to be passionate about performing and self-expression. Before joining SHU, Zenchuk was the operations production manager and handled online media for the Shubert Theatre in New Haven. He also worked as assistant to the artistic director for Center Stage Theatre in Shelton and was director of the award-winning Shelton High School drama club. Zenchuk earned history and theatre degrees at Southern Connecticut State University.
“I can’t imagine my life without the arts,” Zenchuk said. “Not only do the arts enable us to express ourselves, but they also teach us so many valuable life lessons. I am so excited for students to experience this incredible campus and our wonderful performing arts programs. I can’t wait to meet with prospective students and show them why SHU is the perfect fit for them. I am beyond honored to be here and can’t wait to continue to build our performing arts programs.”
