An Op-ed by President John J. Petillo

There is no doubt that these are unprecedented times, and we are all struggling to find our way. We are worried about our own health and that of our loved ones. We are worried about the impact on the economy — whether we will have jobs, whether we can pay our rent, whether we can continue our education.

The federal government has passed three financial relief bills, and now the president is talking about another $2 trillion stimulus plan aimed at rebuilding infrastructure such as roads, bridges and tunnels, with a concerted focus on health care infrastructure (hospitals, medical supplies and equipment). This brick and mortar commitment, and the manufacturing push it would require, would likely create thousands of new jobs and help put many Americans back to work.
