Nicole Drey is a licensed master social worker and certified clinical trauma professional at a community-based behavioral health organization in Nassau County, NY. She earned her BS from St. John’s University and MSW from Adelphi University. Her expertise is in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, crisis intervention, family and child therapy, children with special needs, individuals and families impacted by rare medical conditions. Nicole’s research interests include rare genetic diseases and the psychosocial impact of these disorders, policy for genetic testing and treatments, equal access and disability accommodations in various settings and food allergy awareness. Nicole is a special education parent advocate in New York assisting children who require accommodations in a school setting. She is a rare disease legislative advocate who collaborates with top physicians in the field of rare diseases to promote advancement for equitable development of and access to lifesaving diagnoses, treatments and cures through legislation and policy. Nicole enjoys spending time with her son, aviation and volunteering.
