Marjorie Magny-Black, LICSW
Marjorie Magny-Black is a licensed independent clinical social worker (LICSW) who has well over 25 years of experience. Marjorie is a graduate of Salem State University where she received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the School of Social Work. As a Boston native, Marjorie has worked in various community and hospital programs that include, but are not limited to: outreach programs, residential programs, specialized school programs, a charter middle school, public high schools, a major teaching hospital and a private practice. Currently her full-time role is assisting students and parents as a school adjustment counselor/guidance counselor at a technical vocational school outside of Boston.
Majorie lives with her husband, their two young adult children and two family pets. Recognizing the importance of balance in both her personal and professional life, Majorie can be found practicing self-care by taking workout classes at her local gym, taking long walks throughout her neighborhood and/or spending time with her large Caribbean family while not working.
Marjorie holds a Master of Social Work with a concentration in children and families (1997) and a Bachelor of Social Work (1995), both from Salem State University. Her passion for the Sacred Heart University Social Work Ph.D. study comes from her love of education and dedication to advocacy for those who experience racial inequities and discrimination.
