Lida HolstLida Holst, LCSW, is a psychotherapist in private practice in north central Montana. She earned her BSW and MSW degrees from the University of Southern Maine. Lida is a generalist practitioner in her rural community, though she has special interest in the treatment of trauma, substance use disorders, eating disorders and psychotic disorders. She has specialized training in Emotionally-Focused Therapy and in utilizing Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) with children and adults. Lida is passionate about low-barrier access to care and has previous experience working in federally qualified health centers and shelters serving individuals experiencing homelessness. She presented her research on the experiences of social workers providing care to individuals in low-barrier homeless shelters at the 2018 Society for Social Work and Research Annual Conference, and she remains passionate about finding ways to ameliorate vicarious trauma and bolster vicarious resilience among clinical and community-based practitioners. She is an active community member, sitting on her local library's board of trustees and volunteering backstage in her small town's theater productions. She finds joy in traveling throughout her beautiful state and beyond, practicing yoga, reading, playing Mahjong with friends and driving the backroads with her blue heeler.
