Francis Furmanek
Francis Furmanek is a Residential Counselor at Silver Hill Hospital in New Canaan, Connecticut. They are an LMSW, having earned their MSW with a concentration in Direct Community Practice from Sacred Heart University. They hold a BA in Psychology and a BS in Criminal Justice from University of New Haven. Their expertise is in community social work around health and policy, civic engagement, and mindfulness. Francis’ research interests include health policy, health disparities, the LGBTQ+ community, and international social work. They earned a certificate in Community-Based Integrated Health and Development from the Comprehensive Rural Health Project in Jamkhed, India. They enjoy crafting, cooking, creative writing, and trying new things, traveling as often as the opportunity presents itself to see more of the world and learn about the diverse people within it.
