Admission Requirements

The Post-Master’s Doctor of Nursing Practice program has one start term per year, in the fall semester.

• Non-refundable application fee
• Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended
• Master's degree in nursing (MSN) from an accredited university with minimum 3.0 GPA
• Copy of current unencumbered U.S. RN licensure in your home state and a copy of any other state licensure or certifications
• One page statement on why you wish to pursue a practice doctorate
• Resume
• Two letters of recommendation

Sacred Heart University accepts up to six transfer credits for this program with University approval.

An undergraduate or graduate statistics course taken within six years of admission is strongly recommended.

Official transcripts must be sent directly from the issuing institution, and can be sent electronically (preferred) to gradstudies@sacredheart.edu or mailed to the following address:
